Find Me First vs Semrush

Semrush prices are US dollars from semrush.com/prices, checked July 2026. Ours are Canadian dollars before GST/HST. A Canadian card pays the exchange rate on top of every US-dollar figure above, which is worth doing the arithmetic on.

Choose Semrush if…

  • You need keyword research — what people search, how often, how hard it is to rank.
  • You need backlink data, either your own or a competitor’s.
  • You are running campaigns, for yourself or for clients, and need to measure them.
  • You manage several websites professionally and search is part of your job.
  • You want the deepest toolset available and have the time to learn it.

Choose Find Me First if…

  • You own one business and one website and you want it to work.
  • You want to be told what to do, in words, not handed a chart.
  • You want the fix written out — the actual description, the actual title.
  • You want to spend $29 CAD, not US$139, on a problem this size.
  • You want to be told when something breaks rather than remembering to check.

The honest version of this comparison

Semrush is not overpriced. It is priced for what it does, which is an enormous amount — and if your job involves search, it is probably worth every dollar. We are not going to pretend otherwise to win a sale.

The question is not which product is better. It is which problem you have.

Semrush answers “what should I be targeting, and who am I up against?” That is a strategy question, and answering it well needs keyword volumes, difficulty scores, competitor backlink profiles and someone with the time to read them.

Find Me First answers “what is wrong with my website, and what exactly do I type to fix it?” That is a maintenance question. Most small businesses have the second problem and buy tools for the first one, then never log in again.

What actually happens with a small business and a big SEO suite

We see the same pattern often enough to describe it. An owner signs up, runs a site audit, and gets a list of a few hundred issues sorted by a severity rating. Some are real. Many are technically true but irrelevant to a nine-page site. Almost none come with the answer — they come with a definition and a link to a help article.

The owner fixes two things they understood, feels guilty about the rest, and cancels in month three. That is not Semrush failing. That is a professional tool being asked to do a job it was not designed for.

Where Semrush is straightforwardly better

Everything in the left-hand column above. We do not do keyword research, we do not do backlink analysis, and we do not do competitor intelligence. If you need those, no amount of price advantage on our side makes us the right purchase — buy Semrush, or use their free plan to see whether you will actually use it.

Where we are better

Turning a finding into a change. Every issue we report comes with the fix already written: the real description for your business, the real title for that page, the exact line to delete from your robots file. And when your site is connected to us, you can approve the change and we make it — you never have to find the field yourself.

That, plus $29 CAD a month, plus being told in plain English rather than in a vocabulary you would have to learn first.

Can you use both?

Yes, and some people should. Semrush for the strategy work when you are actively pushing on search; us underneath it, keeping the site itself healthy month after month. They do not conflict. But if you are choosing one, choose the one that matches the problem you actually have this month.

What we don't promise

  • No ranking guarantees. Nobody controls Google's rankings. Anyone who guarantees you the top spot is making it up.
  • No overnight results. Google has to re-crawl your site after a fix. That takes days or weeks, not hours.
  • We don't write your content. We fix what stops Google reading your site. We can't fix a site that has nothing to say.
  • No keyword or backlink research. That's not this product. If that's what you need, our comparison pages say which tool to buy instead.
